Accessibility statement

How we make this website usable for as many people as possible, how far it meets the standard, and how to tell us about a problem.

The public website

1. Our aim

We want everyone who visits this website to be able to read it, find their way around it, and apply, whatever device or assistive technology they use. The site is designed to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

2. What we do

  • A “Skip to content” link, labelled page regions, and one clear heading structure on every page.
  • A visible focus outline on every link, button, and form field, and full use by keyboard, including the menu and the divisions panel.
  • Text and controls that meet the WCAG contrast minimums; colour is never the only way information is shown.
  • An application form that labels every field, links each hint and error message to its field, and lists every problem in a summary that takes focus.
  • Pages that work at 200% and 400% zoom and on screens 320 pixels wide, without scrolling sideways.
  • No animation when your system asks for reduced motion, and support for Windows contrast themes.
  • Pages, navigation, and the application form that work without JavaScript.

3. How the site was checked

Before publication every page was checked with automated tests (axe‑core, WCAG 2.2 AA), with a keyboard alone, at the zoom levels and screen widths above, with reduced motion, and with a contrast theme.

4. Known limitations

  • Without JavaScript the “Your privacy” notice cannot be closed, so it sits at the top of each page instead of over the content.
  • This statement covers the public website. The staff admin panel is not covered.

5. Report a problem

If something on this site is hard to use, tell the recruiting team on Discord. Say which page it was, what you were trying to do, and the device or assistive technology you use, and we will look into it.
